An experiment honoring the lives of Black Women, Black female activists, and Black Female Freedom Fighters. Actively in continuum.

The rise of “King Cotton” revitalized the slave trade and enforced that Black Woman had no right to their bodies, no right to their children, that Black babies were things of profit and that slave breeding was a business and industry that would go as far as it needed to make profit.

Black women experience highest rates of homicide of any racial group in the United States.

Homicides by intimate partners are rising after four decades of decline

The homicide rate for Black women and Native American women is twice that of Asian, Hispanic, and white women. Homicide is a leading cause of death for ALL women under 44.

“One in every 1,850 Black Americans has died from COVID-19 — a mortality rate 2.4 times higher than that for whites. Another way to think about that statistic is that if Blacks were experiencing COVID-19 at the same rate as whites, 13,000 more Blacks would be alive today.”
